Carry out lightning protection physical examination and support the "safety umbrella" of the power grid
As the thunderstorm season approaches, in order to avoid inconvenience caused by lightning strikes and tripping to the public, on April 25th, Gaoqing County Power Supply Company launched a comprehensive lightning protection test for distribution and transformation equipment and lines, timely replacing and eliminating corroded and damaged grounding devices, grounding down conductors, etc. throughout the county, improving the lightning resistance level of power equipment and lines, and ensuring safe and reliable power supply during the thunderstorm season.
The company has strengthened communication and contact with the meteorological department based on the actual lightning protection work over the years, formulated and improved lightning protection measures, plans, and emergency repair plans for lightning accidents. It has organized personnel to increase inspections, testing, and maintenance of substation transmission and distribution equipment and line lightning protection devices to ensure timely detection and elimination of problems such as high grounding resistance, corrosion of grounding bodies, breakage of grounding leads, and damage to lightning arresters. At the same time, the spring lightning protection work was combined with serving farmers' spring farming production. A comprehensive inspection was conducted on the cable terminals and grounding bodies of 253 key agricultural transmission lines, including line towers. 52 lightning arresters and 3 kilometers of lightning protection wires were installed in important sections, achieving early inspection, warning, and disposal of hidden dangers and faults, laying a good foundation for the safe and stable operation of the power grid during thunderstorm seasons.
