Decision on Granting Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province as the "China Lightning Protection Electrical Industry Base"

Lightning protection electrical products mainly include surge lightning arresters, signal lightning arresters, lightning protection boxes, as well as high and low voltage ceramic sleeve and composite sleeve metal oxide lightning arresters. The development of lightning protection electrical products is closely related to the development of the power industry. Due to the rapid development of China's power industry, especially the policy of mandatory installation of lightning protection electrical products in buildings and industrial and mining enterprises, the lightning protection electrical industry has brought unprecedented development space.

There are numerous manufacturers of lightning protection electrical products in Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province. Since the reform and opening up, the lightning protection electrical industry in Yueqing City has made significant progress, especially in the production of surge lightning arresters, signal lightning arresters, metal oxide lightning arresters and other products. There are nearly one hundred professional companies with a very high market share, accounting for more than half of the national market and becoming the main production base for lightning protection electrical products in China.

On October 10, 2014, with strong support from relevant government departments, the Leqing Lightning Protection Electrical Industry Association was officially established. More than 100 people attended the meeting, including Mr. Alain ROUSSEAU, Chairman of the IEC-TC37 Group of the International Standardization Committee, Mr. Yang Shaojie, Vice Chairman of the Lightning Committee of the Chinese Meteorological Society, Mr. Zhao Jun, Director of the Beijing Lightning Protection Product Testing Center, Mr. Gao Xinglong, Secretary General of the Lightning Position Committee of the Chinese Meteorological Society, Dr. Tao Ming, an international lightning protection expert, Mr. Cai Zhenxin, former Director of the Shanghai Lightning Protection Product Testing Center, and Mr. Pan Hongbin, Editor in Chief of the "China Lightning Protection" magazine.

In response to the application requirements of the newly established Yueqing Lightning Protection Electrical Industry Association, after on-site investigation and evaluation by industry leaders and experts, it has been decided to award Yueqing City as the "China Lightning Protection Electrical Industry Base". We hope that your city will attach importance to this honorary title, actively introduce industrial support policies, guide the healthy and rapid development of the lightning protection electrical industry, continue to strengthen and expand the lightning protection electrical industry, and bring glory to the country.
